For Tele Novella's second full-length, Merlynn Belle, the band joined Kill Rock Stars with a very strong idea for how they wanted the entire rollout to look and feel. Super 8 videos were shot for each of the four singles, providing a wealth of content to work with in our advertising campaigns. The initial vinyl pre-order sold out so quickly that the label was able to quadrupal their order at the pressing plant.
When the idea of an AR filter came up in a mid-release brainstorming session, we took point on bringing it to life. We partnered with 3D artist Mark Illing to create a quirky powdered wig and make-up filter resembling a character from the album's second video, and launched the filter on Thanksgiving as a gift to fans. A vinyl giveaway competition helped to activate the campaign, which was shared by hundreds of people, received hundreds-of-thousands of organic impressions, and the band's Instagram following grew exponentially ahead of single three.
